Welcome to the Family Medicine medical student education programs at Columbia P&S and New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Our office coordinates all educational experiences in Family Medicine for
P&S and for visiting students. Our office suite on the 27th floor at 100 Haven Avenue
provides a home to all students interested in Family Medicine.
Our diverse and talented Family Medicine faculty teaches students from first through fourth year. We
co-direct the third year primary care clerkship for all P&S students. We also co-direct a special
four year track for P&S students interested in primary care, the Daniel Noyes Brown Primary Care
Scholars Program, in collaboration with the Department of Pediatrics. Our division also provides
mentorship and support for allied student organizations from the Health Sciences Campus such as
the P&S Family Medicine Interest Group and the Black and Latino Student Organization. We also
provide resources to our residents and faculty interested in Family Medicine academic education
and research.
At the present time, we offer the following fourth year medical student electives:
- Advanced Ambulatory Family Medicine
- Family Medicine Inpatient Sub-internship
- Family Medicine Research Elective
- Students interested in our electives should first review the
"
important requirements for fourth year electives".
